The Entertainment Center.
This project is one I am working on for my wife's
grandparents. Their house is around 40 years old and I
have been remodeling it for them over the last few years.
The living room had the original floors and a sliding glass door
that needed to be removed. The door was replaced with a
picture window and the floors were done over with
hardwood. After the floor was in place we started the
entertainment center.
She wanted something that would fill the wall space and offer
plenty of storage space. We also wanted to allow space
incase she decided to purchase a larger TV in the future.
We decided to build the unit in 3 large sections and then trim
out the piece once the main body was installed. Since most
of the family has a dust allergy we decided that the storage
areas needed to be enclosed. This was done by building
raised panel doors to cover the adjustable shelving on either
side as well as below the TV and component areas.
